Bio
Hi, my name is Alithia Gunter and I love teaching First Grade!  I was born in Gadsden, AL but moved to Troy in second grade so it is definitely "home". I graduated from Charles Henderson High School in 1993 and from there went to The University of the South in Sewanee, TN.  For those who have never heard of "Sewanee", it is a small liberal arts college located between Chattanooga and Nashville.  After graduating with a degree in history, I came back home and attended Troy University.  There, I received my master's in Early Childhood Education.  I also met my husband Shaun during this time, and we got married in 2001.  Shaun is a Pike County High graduate and is employed at Great Southern Wood in Abbeville.   Since that time, we have been blessed with two amazing children, Ella Cate (15) and Houston (13).  As a family, we enjoy spending lots of time together, especially vacationing at the beach.  I also enjoy reading and spending time with friends.  I am a member of First Baptist Church of Troy and teach the 2 year old Sunday School class.
